Alma always loved words, but she never recognized her unique talent. In her very first year at the inclusive school, Alma’s teacher identified her attraction to words and stories. With her help, Alma embarked on a journey to discover her immense talent. She joined the school newspaper staff and was surprised by the ease with which words flowed through her. She found herself expressing thoughts and feelings in new ways she didn't know existed within her.

The great climax came when Alma, in a bold and moving step, wrote and produced her own book of poetry. She distributed the book to all her teachers as a gift of gratitude for the meaningful years she spent at the school. Each poem in the book is a whole world—a mirror to her sensitive and deep soul.

Our Alma found her voice, her way to express herself and touch others' hearts. This is the power of inclusive education: to know someone deeply, to discover the unique spark in each person, and to provide the conditions for them to prosper, grow, and shine.
